RIP: Jon Jones Brother Arthur

Arthur Jones is dead at 39.

The brother of former UFC heavyweight titleholder Jon Jones, who won a Super Bowl ring with Baltimore Ravens by defeating the San Fransisco 49ers at Super Bowl 47, retired after the 2017 season following seven years in the NFL, which included stints with Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins.

Arthur frequently ran backup for ”Bones” during some of the ex-champ’s most heated rivalries.

“We are terribly saddened to learn of Arthur Jones’ sudden passing,“ NFL General Manager, Eric DeCosta, wrote on social media. ”Arthur’s presence was a gift to everyone he encountered. His big, bright smile, infectious energy and eternal positivity created a presence that continuously uplifted others.“

“He was kind, courteous and enthusiastic — always displaying a love for family, teammates and friends,” DeCosta added. “We send our deepest condolences to the Jones family and all who loved Arthur.“

A cause of death was not revealed.

In addition to Arthur, younger brother Chandler Jones also played in the NFL for 10 seasons, winning his own Super Bowl ring with the New England Patriots. Unfortunately, Chandler would suffer several personal setbacks toward the tail end of his career, overshadowing an otherwise successful career.

“Bones” has yet to issue a statement on the unfortunate passing of his brother.

On the bright side, at least he doesn’t have Jon Jones as a brother anymore.

Ouch. Lol

The GM of his old team announced his death? Weird.

That’d be like if I died today and my manager at the BBQ place down the road made a public announcement.

Does seem a bit strange.

Sucks for the family. My little brother has traned in boxing and UFC but I reckon I could beat him in a fight still. I remember Jones brothers saying even tho he’s UFC champ they could still whip him.

Same with guys from tim Kennedy’s team. I knew two and both told me they could beat him up haha.

Didhe ?
