It is. He had me at “bare knuckle MMA” but lost me at “concrete”. I don’t know why promoters think doing it on a hard surface like that makes it more “kEwL” and “br00tal”. It makes me not want to watch.

The damage you see is worse in bareknuckle, but it’s far safer than 12 rounds of punishment in a boxing match. People forget that gloves were designed to protect the hands, not the opponents head.
You have to be much more precise with your punches in bkb and you’re not throwing bombs the entire fight to save your hands, not to mention without gloves its easier to get a knock out. Where people get hurt is during prolonged beatings, guys aren’t dying because they got knocked out in the 3rd round

Jermain Taylor and I share wins over the same guy in the amateurs. Taylor stopped him in 39 seconds of the first and I won by decision once and RSC in the 3rd once…Heard Taylor is punchy as hell now

Lou DiBella stopped working with Taylor after the results of a brain scan following the Abraham KO. I don’t know that much about Lou but he comes across as a decent guy.

Lou was responsible for Boxing After Dark and so many of the great fights on HBO as their matchmaker. Never heard anything bad about the man
